Rotary Club of Red Bank Being Honored
COGS March 1, 2018

Hey Guys and Girls, what is the problem here, only 18 Rotarians showed up for the meeting.  Not good at all.  I am going to start taking this personally, and start believing that you don’t want to welcome me back from Florida.

As usual, we sang, pledged and Chuck retuned thanks.  After doing the 4-way test, we were off to the meeting.  The NCC tried something different for our meal today.  We had “Italian Misto”, which if you are not into Italian means stuffed shells, chicken parm, eggplant rollatini, and green beans.  Barbara was in heaven with the desert, the world-famous chocolate lava cake.

Bill Donnelly filled in as Sgt.-at-Arms and picked up a couple of bucks from Jay and Chuck for not having pins on.  Happy $$$ consisted of Chuck, Harriet and I giving money for the PETs sessions down at King-of-Prussia.  Bill added to that, thanking us for participating in the program.  He doesn’t realize that we enjoy doing it.  Darren finished the happy dollars with two, the first for not knocking over the bell from the podium and the second for wearing his Rotary pin while he gave a talk to a Kiwanis Club.  That takes guts.

The Lombardi Dinner is on March 15th, and this year it is going to be held at Branches.  RLI is on March 17th at Valley Forge and also on April 21st in West Orange.  Try to make one of these RLI programs if you haven’t taken the program yet.  They are worth attending.  May 3rd is Career Day, and May 4th, 5th, and 6th is our District Conference.  That’s it for the important news.

Harry Snyder was our speaker for the program today, and he talked about his profession, a Public Insurance Adjuster.  Interesting talk and he gave us some valuable information.  There are three levels for a home insurance policy.  The least expensive usually is the “Actual Cash Value Policy”, next up the ladder is the “Replacement Value Policy” and the best is the “Guaranteed Replacement Value Policy “.  There is an increase in cost as one   obtains better coverage.  Another tidbit that he talked about is the Excess Coverage on Flood insurance.  The base flood policy only covers $250,000.  As proven by Sandy, the damage can be much higher than your basic policy coverage, and only with an excess coverage policy can you receive more funds.  He advises that you look at your policy or sit down with your agent and review your coverage.

The 50-50 was won for the second week in a row by Chuck Watson.  Chuck gave away his secret which is that he jumps in front of Lou to get what would have been Lou’s tickets, and is thereby the winner.  Sounds about right to me.

Hey people, let’s get out to the meetings.

TTFN.
