COGS - March 2, 2017

Once again, I take computer in hand to give you the very best in Red Bank Rotary information. I know what a joy it is for most of you to read these tidbits of knowledge that I pass out, so I won’t hold you in suspense any longer.

The EVENING started off with the Prez ringing the broken bell.  I started the singing and luckily found a reasonable note with which to start.  Chuck added the prayer and we 4-wayed.  Ken gave us the new Rotary slogan, “Rotary, Making a Difference”.  Ken’s lovely wife told the group that Ken had given her the theme pin, set in diamonds.  Boy, doe he ever have a line, if he can get away with that.

All I remember about dinner was that it consisted of some type of chicken, and the bread pudding was for desert.  I’m sure there was something else, but those two were the only things that stuck in my mind.

Our guests included as mentioned, Ken’s wife, Shannon, Chris Z’s wife and two visiting satellite Rotarians form the Asbury Club, Jackie Boruch and Diana More from the Freehold club. Chris Ryan also introduced Eric Anderson from, some said the Red Bank Club, but not many of us knew him. Many of us gave happy $$$, but I’m just too slow to get them all down on paper.  I remember that Darren gave a dollar, because he was voted, in his PETS class, as most likely to be impeached.

Upcoming events include a Golf Meeting on 3-9 at Jay’s office.  March 16th is the Lombardi Dinner, and April 20th is Career Day.  Addie is having trouble getting matches for Career Day so we need to step up for that.  April 22nd is RLI in West Orange, and April 24th is the Food & Wine.  May 5th 6th and 7th is the Multi-District Conference in Gettysburg, and finally, June 10th to the 14th is the RI Convention in Atlanta. If you ever thought about attending an RI Convention, and I will tell you they are great, this Atlanta convention is the one to go to.  Give it some thought.  Oh, by the way, there is a Board or Bored meeting next week at 11:00 before the meeting.

The Satellite members gave us a rundown on what they were doing.  One meeting a month is to plan the project and the second meeting is to work on the project.  They have worked with the Tinton Falls Rotary, and the Asbury Rotary on various projects and will continue to work with any of the clubs in the county.

What a surprise, the $25 50-50 was not won by Lou.  No, Ken’s wife, Shannon won the 50-50.  Does that seem strange to anyone else?
